Navani's scribes set up her spanreed. The engineers rigged a system that would allow them to determine the location of the person on the spanreed's opposite end. After a terse back-and-forth conversation over spanreed, Navani ordered her team to move her and the spanreed to a different place. She contacted the person again, and she and [[Kalami]] deduced that the person must be a spren. Falilar noted that he could tell the spren was writing from inside the tower.
