The Sibling's original fabrial was considered part of their being. It was one of a number of fabrials that were integral to the defenses of Urithiru, and took many years to perfect.{{book ref|sa4|111}} It was created to prevent Fused and potentially the Unmade from entering the tower.{{book ref|sa4|49}} The fabrial seems to have functioned well throughout the [[Desolation]]s, as the Fused were well aware of its effects.{{book ref|sa4|37}} During the [[False Desolation]], the imprisonment of [[Ba-Ado-Mishram]] ripped out
At some point (presumably during the [[Heraldic Epochs]]), the Fused scholar Raboniel was able to somehow study the Sibling's defenses, and she discovered the underlying technology of the suppression fabrial.{{book ref|sa4|14}} The Sibling was aware of Raboniel's level of knowledge, and was afraid of her.{{book ref|sa4|40}} Around the time of the [[Last Desolation]], Raboniel was thought to have gone mad, and was compelled to stay asleep indefinitely. However, after the other Fused returned to Roshar during the True Desolation, they were able to build an unknown number of prototype suppression fabrials based on her research, and nearly perfected them.{{book ref|sa4|14}}
