Aona was the original Vessel of the Shard Devotion.[2][3] She had eventually come to inhabit Sel.

She was killed by Odium,[1] millennia before the setting of the Stormlight Archive.[4] In doing so he splintered her and left the Aons at the centre of the seons as splinters of Devotion.[3]

She and Skai violated the pact of the original Vessels by settling on the same world.[5][6]
