Aona was the original Vessel of the Shard Devotion.[3] Sometime after the Shattering, she and Skai took up residence on Sel.[1] Edgli believes that, by doing so, they violated the original Vessels' pact to not settle on the same world as another Shard,[4][5] though the exact terms of that agreement are somewhat unclear.[6]
Abilities and Attributes
Aona is a Shard of Adonalsium, making her one of the most powerful entities in the cosmere. She is immortal, unaging, and incorporeal. She fuels the magics AonDor, Dakhor, ChayShan, Forgery, and Bloodsealing.[7][8]
History
Nothing is known about Aona's origins and life prior to the Shattering, other than that she came from Yolen.[9] For unknown reason, she and a group of others broke cosmere's creator deity, Adonalsium, into sixteen pieces.[10] Of those sixteen, she took up Devotion, and departed alongside Dominion for Sel.[11]
Trivia
When Raoden enters the pool, he hears a voice, which may be that of Aona's Cognitive Shadow, though whether or not she even has a Cognitive Shadow is unknown.[12][13]
