He was searching for evidence of the existence of [[alespren]] by getting drunk. During which Axies awakens naked in an alley and negotiates with a crazy [[Axies' Beggar|beggar]] for a blanket to cover himself. Soon after while observing the large unique Spren the blanket is stolen and Axies is arrested. Given the hostility which his appearance attracts and the likelihood of losing his possessions, he took to making his research notes by using his Aimian talent for altering his appearance to create tattoos on his body for later reference.
