Before Raoden was taken by the [[Shaod]] and thrown into [[Elantris (city)|Elantris]], Eondel supported his movements. When [[Sarene]] came to [[Kae]], he supported her in her plan to overthrow King [[Iadon]].{{book ref|elantris|11}} He also helped her take supplies into Elantris for her Widow's Trial, and saved her from being killed by one of [[Shaor]]'s men.{{book ref|elantris|22}}{{book ref|elantris|28}}

Eondel had a personal army,{{book ref|Elantris|11}} which was accepted to be the most effective fighting force in Arelon.{{book ref|Elantris|11}}

After Sarene's plans were foiled by [[Hrathen]] and Duke [[Telrii]] became king, Count [[Ahan]] betrayed the Groupgroup, cousingcausing Telrii to atackattack them. In the assoult [[Roial]] was killed cousingin the assault, causing the Returnedreturned Raoden to reveal himself. and Telrii fleedto flee with his men.{{book ref|elantris|53}} Later, Eondel led his men to an attack on the palace in order to avenge Roial and retake the throne for Raoden.
