A powerful nation state in the novel Elantris, Fjordell is a theocracy throughout the book that employs powerful priests in order to enlarge the nation. It is a fast-growing empire and, during the fall of Elantris, the most powerful nation on the world. It also harbors a special hatred for Elantris due to the two defeats suffered at the Elantrians' hands.
