In a tale that [[Wit]] tells [[Kaladin]], Fleet was a man who could run faster than a [[Highstormhighstorm]].{{book ref|sa2|59}} [[Hoid|Wit]] also claims that his story is well-known by all, but [[Kaladin]] doubts this as he had never heard of Fleet before.{{book ref|sa2|59}} The story suggests similarities between Fleet and [[Kaladin]].

[[Hoid|Wit]] mentions that he had raced the [[heraldHerald]] [[Chanarach]] to prove his speed, perhaps showing a competitive streak. (He won the race, demonstrating exceptional speed.) He then raced the [[Stormfather]] himself, trying to outrun a [[Highstormhighstorm]]. ThisHis desire of his, to be the fastest on [[Roshar]], was so extreme that he died in order to win the race, and even then his spirit left his body in order to continue down to the western shores of [[Shinovar]] in an attempt to best the [[Stormfather]].{{book ref|sa2|59}}

Fleet's attitude is reminiscent of the first[[Knights_Radiant/Immortal_Words#The_First_Ideal|First idealsIdeal]] of the [[Knights Radiant]]: the outcome of the race (and his inevitable failure) is irrelevant to him, and he judges himself only by his efforts.
