Herdaz was a north-eastern coastal nation on Roshar, bordered by Alethkar, Jah Keved, and a number of Reshi Isles.

The Herdazian peoples had crystalline, slate-colored fingernails. Many Alethi stereotyped Herdazians as being boastful.

Notable Herdazians

• Kabsal had a faint Herdazian accent.
• An illiterate Herdazian:

“Above silence, the illuminating storms—dying storms— illuminate the silence above. ”

—A ketek by an illiterate Herdazian

• Havarah, Dalinar's bridgelord was part Herdazian as evidenced by his dark, crystalline fingernails.
• Lopen, the cheerful, one-armed member of Bridge Four.
