The inkspren are a race of sentient spren that dwell primarily in the Cognitive Realm of Roshar.

They appear to be related to the Order of Elsecallers[1], the seventh Order of Knights Radiant, which has access to the Transformation and Transportation Surges.[2]

They tend to be attracted to people who are logical and willing to think through their decisions as opposed to acting on instinct.[3] Inkspren also dislike how humans change so often.[3]

Appearance

Inkspren appear as human-shaped figures dressed all in black. They have been described as being coated in what seems to be oil, and as having a mother-of-pearl or prismatic quality to their look.[4] Unlike certain other bond spren, they cannot make themselves invisible to humans. They can, however, change their size drastically, allowing them to shrink to the point where they cannot be seen.[5]

They are capable of blending into shadows.[4][6]
