Ishar, also known as Ishi'Elin or Tezim, is one of the ten Heralds of the Almighty on Roshar.[1] He is patron of the Order of Bondsmiths.
In the Vorin tradition he is referred to as Ishi. He is associated with the Divine Attributes of Pious and Guiding.
Ishar was the key guiding force behind the formation of the Knights Radiant, believing that laws and organization were necessary for humans controlling Surges lest they cause untold damage.[2]
Ishar speculated that if only one Herald is bound to the Oathpact, that would be sufficient to end the cycle of Desolations. All of the heralds except for Talenel used this reasoning to abandon the Oathpact.[3]
Like all heralds, Ishar's name is commonly used as an expletive.[4]
In the Stormlight Archive Pocket Companion, Ishar is referred to as Ishar'elin and the Herald of Luck.
Nale is apparently communicating with Ishar in regards to current events. Ishar has assured Nale that the Voidbringers have not returned.[5] Nale changes his mind when he sees the Everstorm.[6]
