Smocke is a sailor that sailed the Emerald Sea on Lumar. He sailed on a merchant ship which was raided by the Crow's Song.[1]

When Smocke's ship was attacked by the Crow's Song, another sailor he cared for was shot and killed by Captain Crow. While the ship's captain spoke with Salay to discuss their bounty, Smocke aimed a pistol at Crow, who pointed one back at him in return. After Crow shot herself in the head, demonstrating her ability to control her verdant aether infestation to prevent harm, he was tackled to the ground by his crewmates, inadvertently firing a shot into the air.[1]
