The syre (also jedavar or kmeer) is a light sword created in Jaador on Sel.[1]

It was initially used in Jaador as a weapon for scouts, but fell into disuse before being reintroduced as a fencing weapon for the nobility.

Sarene brought syres to the noblewomen of Arelon for fencing.

Raoden, posing as a Dula named Kaloo, said that though Dulas can duel well, a syre isn't much good against a trained soldier.[2]
