Kaladin thinks about her a few times. He thinks that he has failed her in some way. Tarah also coaxes Kaladin out of his single-minded determination in training on the spear due to his guilt over Tien's death. She claims that it will burn him out.[1][2]

When Adolin is speaking with Kaladin about Shallan, Kaladin's advice is for him to be frank with Shallan about his feelings. He then thinks about Tarah and the mistakes he made with her.[3]

Later, when Kaladin and Shallan are in the chasms and they are huddling together for warmth, he realises it is the closest he has physically been to any woman since Tarah.[4]
