The Horneaters are a race of people on the world of Roshar at the time of The Way of Kings. The only known Horneater is Rock, a member of the Bridge Four slave team.

Culture

They are known to have a occupation order by birth. First and second sons make food, third sons are craftsmen, and fourth sons are warriors. It is unknown what more fecund families do with the later children. Horneaters seem to be a generally peaceful group. At one point, Rock tells Bridge Four about their dueling system, saying that the two men would drink and sing until one of them gives up. The point is that by the end of the duel, no one will recall why they were fighting. However, he may have been joking when he says this.
