You are fools! One day, the men of gold and red, bearers of the final metal, will come to you. And you will be ruled by them. Worship. Worship Trell and wait ...

—Miles Dagouter's last words[1]

The Men of Gold and Red is an army under the direct command of Autonomy which she uses to invade and conquer other worlds, though Gave Entrone seemed convinced that she would rather use her army to destroy worlds than rule them.[2] The soldiers themselves have golden skin and glowing red eyes, they numbered in the thousands and carried advanced rifles by Scadrian standards. Although she could not get a good look at them Marasi Colms considered them to be quite statue like in appearance.[3] They are considered a specialised army and can be difficult to control once unleashed,[4] while not used often the army has been released a handful of times in the past.[5] TwinSoul claimed to personally know of their destructive potential.[4]

Prophecies within Trellism foretold this army, claiming that they bore a metal of unknown origin. This is perhaps a reference to Trellium.[1]

Origin and Invested Arts

The original world of the Men of Gold and Red is unknown, however some of their members are from a known Shardworld and use a known Invested Art.[6] As of that time the only known Shardworlds were that of Roshar, Sel, Taldain, Threnody, and Nalthis. Seeing as the army was set to invade Scadrial at the time it is unlikely any of their number originates from there.
