Shallan, Kaladin, Dalinar, and Renarin, all reveal themselves to be the first new Knight Radiants in centuries. Now that the Knight Radiant had been reformed, she was tasked by Dalinar to save as many as people as they could before the impending [[Desolation]]. {{book ref|wor|89}}

 

After reforming the Knight Radiant, Dalinar asked her to learn as much as she can about her powers. Despite being a Lightweaver, Shallan publicly pretends to be an Elsecaller to hide the fact that she can create illusions. While attending a meeting with Dalinar, Shallan constructs a three-dimensional map out of stormlight with the aid of Dalinar's own abilities. {{book ref|sa3|8}} As they marvel at her creation, [[Lyn]] arrived to inform them that there has been a murder. When they arrive at the scene of the crime, the victim appeared to be [[Vedekar Perel]], and they discover that the murder was an exact copy of the murder of Highprince [[Sadeas]]. When Adolin is assigned to search for the perpetrator, Shallan noticed that he had been acting strange and Pattern hums in response. {{book ref|sa3|9}}
