This is a template to simplify the lists of notable characters (or anything else) that appear on many pages on the wiki. By default it lists the 9 largest pages in the selected category. If needed you can specify a category to be excluded, or an additional category to filter for. If you include |r=y it will add Residents of before the category name you entered.

While this is not a perfect method of choosing notability, I think it does a pretty good job.

For example: 

{{User:King of Herdaz/notable list|Hallandren|4=characters}}

produces:

For a full list, see :Category: Hallandren.


And 

{{User:King of Herdaz/notable list|Urithiru|count=15|r=y}}

produces:

For a full list, see :Category: Residents of Urithiru.
