The '''Ascension''' is the name given to the event surrounding the rise of [[Rashek]] as the Lord Ruler of the [[Final Empire]] by taking the power at the [[Well of Ascension]].
==Physical Changes to the Planet==
During the time he held the power of the Well he changed all other living [[Feruchemist]]s into [[Mistwraith]]s and his close friends into the first generation of [[Kandra]]. He did this because he saw and understood the power and risks of Feruchemy.▼

The [[First Contract]] was given to the kandra as a way for them to govern themselves. It detailed how to create new kandra and also put forth the [[Resolution]], a clause in the contract that stated that if the [[First Generation]] said, all of the kandra were to remove their spikes, becoming mistwraiths again.{{epigraph ref|mb3|11}}
