Shasta has tendency to wear simple, plain clothes. She wearshas herlong, blond hair, which she wears in a bun. Alcatraz describes her as someone who would be pretty, if only she didn't wear a pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

While working undercover as Ms. Fletcher, Alcatraz's caseworker, she displayed a veryrather unpleasant personality, often criticizing Alcatraz and pointing out what a terrible person he is. Her attitude torwardstowards Alcatraz changes, however, during the events of Siege of Mokia, when they have a discussion like two equals. While interacting with other Librarians, she is concretecurt and businesslike. She is serious most of the time, but on occasion displays a very sarcastic sense of humor.

Shasta appears to be ashamed that she doesn't have full control over her Smedry Talent.{{book ref|a1|10}} However, she typically keeps an unflappable demeanor and is able to brush off most criticisms.
