She was captured by the Mokians during the [[Siege of Mokia]].
While working undercover as Ms. Fletcher, Alcatraz's caseworker, she displayed a very unpleasant personality, often criticizing Alcatraz and pointing out what a terrible person he is. Her attitude forward Alcatraz changes however during the events of Siege of Mokia, when they have a discussion like two equals. While interacting with other Librarians, she is concrete and businesslike.
Shasta appears to be ashamed that she doesn't have full control over her Smedry Talent.{{book ref|a1|10}}
