== History ==
On the night [[Silence spotsMontane|Silence]] spotted [[Chesterton Divide]] in her waystop, William Ann preparesprepared a half dose of [[fenweed]] for the men, and convincesconvinced her mother to let her come along to track them down. She helpshelped her mother to kill Chesterton and his men for their bounty, and to recover the body from [[Red Young]], who later cutscut them off at the [[Old Bridge]] and takestook her hostage. She iswas pushed through a [[Shadeshade]] by Red after he drawsdrew her blood.{{book ref|sfs}}
Silence rushesrushed her to the waystop and savessaved herWilliam Ann's life -- stopping her from being turned into a Shade -- by pouring a mixture of powdered [[silver]] and water down her throat and on her face.
