When [[Urithiru]] was built, many people wanted it to be built in Alethela, but there was some unknown reason obvious to the people of the day why it couldn't happen.{{epigraph ref|sa1|35}}
By the time of the [[Era of Solitude]], it had become the kingdom of [[Alethkar]].{{book ref|sa1|19}} During this transition, Alethela lost territory in the west to [[Jah Keved]], but gained some in the north from [[Rishir]], and in the southeast from [[Natanatan]].{{map ref|Silver Kingdoms}}{{map ref|Roshar}} Territory was also lost in the northeast, known in the Era of Solitude as the [[Unclaimed Hills]].
