Aona was the original Vessel of the Shard Devotion.[2] Sometime after the Shattering, they and Skai took up residence on Sel.[1] Edgli believes that, by doing so, they violated the original Vessels' pact to not settle on the same world as another Shard,[3][4] though the exact terms of that agreement are somewhat unclear.[5]

Abilities and Attributes

Aona is a Shard of Adonalsium, making them one of the most powerful entities in the cosmere. They are immortal, unaging, and incorporeal. They fuel the magics AonDor, Dakhor, ChayShan, Forgery, and Bloodsealing.[6][7]

History

Nothing is known about Aona's origins and life prior to the Shattering, other than that they came from Yolen.[8] For unknown reason, they and a group of others broke cosmere's creator deity, Adonalsium, into sixteen pieces.[9] Of those sixteen, they took up Devotion, and departed alongside Dominion for Sel.[10]

Trivia

When Raoden enters the pool, he hears a voice, which may be that of Aona's Cognitive Shadow, though whether or not they even have a Cognitive Shadow is unknown.[11][12]
