The Ire are in possession of several extremely powerful magical artifacts. They have a device the size of a desk clock that consists of a large yellow gemstone set in a lattice of golden metal.{{msh ref\|5\|2}} The device, which shares several characteristics with [[Rosharan]] [[Fabrial#Warning fabrials\|warning fabrials]], is able to detect the presence of Threnodite [[shade]]s within a day's march of the fortress.{{msh ref\|5\|2}} The group also designed (and likely created) a [[Ire's orb\|magical orb]] ~~that was~~ filled with apurified ~~pure, brightly glowing liquid~~[[Dor]] that could grant Connection.{{msh ref\|5\|2}}{{msh ref\|5\|3}}{{msh ref\|6\|4~~}} The orb was technically created using a known magic system,{{wob ref\|4550}} although it was used in a novel way.{{wob ref\|1561~~}}{{wob ref\|~~9513~~16169}} Despite their extensive planning, the Ire may not have been fully prepared for the effects of using the orb.{{wob ref\|11820}} They also drink a glowing liquid that has a similar appearance to the substance in the orb.{{msh ref\|5\|2}} Drinking the liquid restores the luminous aura that emanates from the members of the Ire.{{msh ref\|5\|3}} The specific nature of the liquid is unknown, but it has some relation to a glowing substance made of Investiture{{wob ref\|1542}} that [[Hoid]] is seen applying to his oar when he is rowing through the Cognitive Realm.{{msh ref\|2\|1}}{{wob ref\|200}}
