Marsh was a Seeker, a [[Misting]] who could burn bronze. He was highly skilled and taught Vin how to use bronze effectively.
 
Upon becoming an Inquisitor, he gained further abilities in Allomancy and [[Feruchemy]] through the use of [[Hemalurgic]] spikes. He gained many more spikes than were usual for an Inquisitor in the Lord Ruler's time; upwards of twenty.{{book ref|mb3|72}} Some of the spikes Marsh has have granted him the abilities of Allomantic [[steel]]{{book ref|mb2|57}}, [[iron]]{{book ref|mb2|58}}, [[pewter]]{{book ref|mb3|34}}, [[tin]]{{book ref|mb3|42}}, [[brasszinc]]{{book ref|aol|epilogue}}, [[duralumin]]{{epigraph ref|mb3|72}}, and [[atium]]{{book ref|mb3|81}}, as well as granting him the abilities of Feruchemical pewter{{book ref|mb3|65}}, steel{{book ref|mb3|42}}, [[gold]]{{book ref|mb3|69}}, and atium.{{qa ref|688|7}} He also has a spike to further increase his Allomantic [[bronze]]{{epigraph ref|mb3|37}}.
 
His multiple atium abilities allow him to [[Compounding|extend his life]] as [[Rashek]] had.
