He is described as only being "half-there,"{{book ref\|Steelheart\|17}} although when he is corporeal, he looks frail. Nightwielder is ~~seldom~~almost never seen in corporeal form. ;Darkness: Nightwielder is powerful enough to keep the entire city of Newcago dark except for the light from [[Calamity (Epic)\|Calamity]]. ;Dark mist: Nightwielder exudes a dark mist that pools around him. The mist can be controlled by him and be given ~~corporeal~~solid form, for example, a spear that can ~~stab~~impale someone. ;Flight: At a few points in Steelheart, Nightwielder displays the ability to levitate and fly. Uncertain whether this was deliberate or not, Nightwielder chose not to attack.
