The Pinnacle stands on a hill above all the other warcamps, about an hour's march from the [[House Kholin|Kholin]] warcamp.{{book ref|sa1|22}}{{book ref|sa2|5}} It is surrounded by a sheer drop of approximately a hundred feet.{{book ref|sa2|33}} One road leads to the main entrance, while a smaller side route goes down to the stables at the feet of the hill.{{book ref|sa2|22}} Likewise, the [[feasting basin]] sits beneath the palace, with a short climb between it and the Pinnacle gates.{{book ref|sa2|50}} The [[Outer Market]] is also located nearby.{{book ref|sa2|67}}

;The Gallery of Maps: The [[Gallery of Maps]], as its name implies, houses numerous maps of both the world and the local area, as well as the list of highprinces and the number of [[gemheart]]s they have won. ;The conference chamber: The king's conference chamber is located on one of the Pinnacle's topmost floors. The palace was constructed by the royal [[Soulcaster]]s during the [[War of Reckoning]].{{book ref|sa1|24}} Elhokar eventually dubbed it the Pinnacle, and the name stuck.{{book ref|sa2|5}}
During its existence, the place served as Elhokar's home, as well as the place where strategy and planning meetings were conducted, making it effectively the centre of [[Alethi]] government.{{book ref|sa2|24}}{{book ref|sa2|36}} In addition, the Pinnacle saw several failed attempts to assassinate the king - once by the [[Diagram (group)|Diagram]], through a sliced railing in the royal quarters, once by the [[Assassin in White]], and once directly by [[Moash]] and [[Graves]].{{book ref|sa2|23}}{{book ref|sa2|32}}{{book ref|sa2|84}} Following that last attempt, [[Kaladin]] temporarily relocated Elhokar to [[Little Herdaz]].{{book ref|sa2|87}}
