'''Shardbearer''' wasis a term used to refer to someone who heldholds a '''[[Shardblade]]''' or a suit of '''[[Shardplate]]'''. If someone heldholds both a [[Shardblade]] and [[Shardplate]], they wereare considered to be a "Fullfull Shardbearer."
 
Although the term generally refers to true Shardblades and Shardplate, the term Shardbearer is also applied to those who hold Shardblade-like weapons, such as the [[Honorblade]]s and the unique blade [[Nightblood]].
They had to wait ten heartbeats (which the [[Shardbearer]] could hear no matter how loud his surroundings) after summoning the Shardblade before it appeared. When a Shardblade appeared, it formed as if from mist, wet with dew.
