Skimmer is a term used for two different concepts on Scadrial:
- A Feruchemist who can only use the power of iron (an iron Ferring) is colloquially known as a Skimmer,[1] see Iron#Feruchemical Use
- Small Southern Scadrian airships that are used as shuttles or tenders are called skimmers[2] (a prominent example is Wilg)
The airships are partly controlled by the use of Feruchemical iron, typically using unsealed ironminds. The two terms may be related despite originating in different cultures, but this has not been confirmed.
