Spray is a mare in the Kholin warcamp on the Shattered Plains of Roshar during the War of Reckoning.[1]
Appearance and Personality
She is short, with a shaggy mane and brown coat. She is very calm and primarily interested in eating grass and other plants.[1]
History
Kaladin chooses her as his mount when he is learning to ride a horse. Spray is docile but somewhat stubborn, and she is unwilling to go faster despite Kaladin's urging. Adolin Kholin is riding his Ryshadium Sureblood nearby and lightly mocks Kaladin, remarking that Spray was fast in her youth, but is at least fifteen years old and is best suited to children.[1]
Kaladin thinks he needs to try to ride a faster horse, and dismounts Spray in favor of Dreamstorm, despite Jenet's warnings against doing so. He is bucked off of Dreamstorm, and he returns to Spray.[1]
