Tearim is the lighteyed captain of Gavilar Kholin's King's Guard.[1]

Attributes and Abilities

He is known as one of the world's greatest duelists.[1] He is often loaned Shardplate and Shardblades, and has trained extensively with both.[2]

History

Around 1145, Tearim was already the captain of Gavilar's guard. During the major battle with Kalanor's army, he wore Dalinar's extra set of Shardplate that technically belonged to Evi;[2] this was the Plate that Adolin later inherited.[3]

Tearim was also present at the Parshendi feast that preceded Gavilar's assassination. He wore Gavilar's Shardplate during the feast, since Gavilar had stopped wearing it in favor of traditional robes. Tearim stayed close to Gavilar, and Jasnah referred to him as a "bodyguard". Tearim was present when Gavilar stepped out of the party to speak privately to Meridas Amaram.[2] By the time Szeth attacked Gavilar's quarters, Gavilar had donned his Plate.[4] It is likely that Tearim was part of the decoy group that was intended to distract Szeth.
