A tobok is a traditional outer garment of two layers of thick cloth worn in the past on Komashi. The clothing typically has long sleeves and may come in a variety of colors.[1][2] It is unclear whether the bell skirt accompanying a tobok is considered part of the tobok itself.

The yoki-hijo wears one of several bright-colored ceremonial toboks, depending on the day of the week.[2] She wears the tobok over a sash around the bust, a white wrap over the chest, and loose leggings, and is dressed by her attendants.[1][2]

Yumi purchases an elegant dress cardigan at the Shinzua Shopping Center which reminds her of the upper portion of the tobok she usually wears, although it is made of stiffer fabric, has a shorter body and sleeves, and is more form-fitting.[3]

Trivia[edit]

The term "tobok" is inspired by the Korean word "bok", meaning "clothing".[4]
