Yalb was a Thaylen sailor from Roshar.[1]
He traveled on The Wind's Pleasure with Shallan and stayed with her as a guide in Kharbranth until she was apprenticed with Jasnah.
Sly and savvy, but goodwilled by nature, Yalb used his talent to cheat palace guards at cards and to get a reasonable price for Shallan's books at a bookseller.[2]
