  • The lords seem to have a non-intervention pact: "And

you didn’t even raise a proverbial finger to help them. You hold to your vow—very admirable of you." ("Oreon" (Aronack) to Doruse)

  • "Our sin was the same. Have you

looked in on our creations lately? They were doing well until a short while ago—they nearly took the entire Shattered Plains." ("Oreon" (Aronack) to Doruse)

  • "Tell me.

Did you use your powers to make him as he is?" “I hold to my vow, brother," Wat growled. “My purpose here was to watch over the source of power."

  • Selonis/Slonis seems to be proto Cultivation
  • Ethain is the Lord of War, and has a human appearance, possibly the same as the Queen Warlord
  • Doruse is Wat, a priest in Jerick's village
  • Rafete is ?
  • fifth is Aronack (for more info see [1] [2] [3]); he claims to be Oreon
  • Oreon and Xeth have Preservation/Ruin vibes
  • Frost maybe is Rafete, he also seems to have some sort of vow of non-intervention.
  • "I would say that all... I consider almost all the worldbuilding to be canon, but the characters to not be."[1]
  • "You can glean some little things about the cosmere, but not much. I didn't start canonizing real cosmere elements until Mistborn. The book just isn't great, and what it does contain in regards to the cosmere has either been changed or will be changed." [2]
  • "so little of Dragonsteel is still canon. I've pulled so much out of it."[3]
  • "So basically the only thing remaining that is still going to be canon is Hoid and his story, the story what's going with him there is still stuff he would have done..." [4]
  • "It is no longer Cosmere canon. Nothing in it really spoils too much. It spoils some of the magic system that’ll eventually be part of Dragonsteel, and some of those things. But when I go back to this planet, it’ll be Hoid’s viewpoint. Jerick has basically been written out of the Cosmere; I don’t know that I will ever do a book about him." [5]
  • Basically there's not a whole lot that's canon in that anymore. The Sho Del are, the dragons are, and the Tamu Keks are. But all the Hoid stuff is not really canon anymore. He'll get a completely new book backstory. I have really done some work lately on the aethers in ways that I really think is working. So I think I can start canonizing aethers, sneaking [them] into the mainline cosmere books. Whether I can ever write the book about the aethers is another question, but you should see more than just little cameo pieces now that I'm sure about some of the ways they work. I made some major breakthroughs in how I wanted that to all connect. [6]
  • "Dragonsteel, I consider lightly canon to the Cosmere in that the events of Dragonsteel happen, mostly, but the worldbuilding's been refined so much that eventually I will write the book that will be called Dragonsteel (or maybe the series), but it'll now be Hoid's story, rather than Jerick's story. And it'll be a completely different type of story. Though little bits of it will be recognizable." [7]
