Mraize's Aviar is an Aviar on Roshar owned by Mraize.[1]

Appearance and Personality[edit]

Mraize's Aviar has a large hooked, knifelike beak and bright green feathers.[2][3] It has a sleek body.[2]

The Aviar often rides on Mraize's shoulder.[2] Its chirps sound like words.[4] It appears to dislike the cold.[4] The Aviar likes being in charge of confrontations and will flee when things go unexpectedly for it.[3]

Attributes and Abilities[edit]

Mraize's Aviar's talent is unknown.[5] It is trained to return to him with a whistle and is carnivorous.[4][6] It is highly intelligent.[7][4]

History[edit]

Mraize's Aviar originated from First of the Sun.[8][9] Mraize obtained it sometime prior to arriving at Urithiru, by the Rosharan year 1174.[2] It would often ride on his shoulder, as he liked flaunting the bird to others, even while disguised.[2]

During the year 1175, Mraize murdered Gereh for unknown reasons. Mraize's own Aviar then attempted to kill Gereh's Aviar, badly wounding it. Lift defended Gereh's Aviar and healed it with Stormlight, saving its life. The Aviar then guided her through Urithiru down to Gereh's corpse. It mourned over its loss until Mraize and his Aviar entered the room, at which point Lift fled with Gereh's Aviar.[3]
